Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • planning, developing, coordinating and delivering courses (including face-to-face and distance learning modes) in related disciplines at the undergraduate, taught and research postgraduate levels;
  • undertaking/engaging in course administration/development and scholarly activities; and
  • participating in School/University activities and administration.

 

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • an earned Master’s or doctoral degree in Chinese Language/Chinese Language Education or a related discipline, coupled with relevant experience in school teaching and/or tertiary education, preferably including experience in course administration;
  • a relevant teaching qualification and experience in the Hong Kong education system, specializing in the Chinese Language curriculum, in local schools;
  • with experience in teaching the Chinese Language subject and/or teaching Putonghua
  • a record of research and peer-reviewed publications, and/or engagement in professional and community services & activities; and
  • a good command of written and spoken Chinese, with a preference for proficiency in Putonghua, along with a reasonable command of English.

 

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
