The HKIC is looking for a highly talented individual to fill the position of:
Lecturer - Building Construction
The applicant must possess
- a recognised degree or above in construction / building related fields, preferably with corporate membership of an appropriate professional institution;
- a minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification relevant working experience in building construction works;
- experience with engineering drafting software, such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, and manual drafting, and knowledge in latest technologies such as BIM and MiC would be an advantage;
- solid programme development and management skills, and experience in teaching and designing programmes under Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF);
- effective classroom teaching and delivery skills, and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research;
- good networking capabilities and interpersonal skills, and ability to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders in construction industry or vocational education and training;
- skills in AI and data analytics for strategic planning and decision-making would be an advantage;
- a strong command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua is preferred.

Duties include
- to conduct teaching related to building construction subjects and to organize all necessary activities for programme operation including site visits etc.;
- to update course contents, prepare training materials and assignment/ examination papers;
- to develop plans in courses / programmes articulation and liaise with relevant stakeholders, including construction companies and educational and / or vocational training institutes, for possible collaboration and implementation of new training courses; and to liaise with the industry on the provision of tailor-made training courses;
- to undertake validation and accreditation of programmes under Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF); and
- to carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
