Our client is a reputable organisation with global operations. Currently, they are hiring a Chief Economist to join their team in Hong Kong.

About the Role

You will conduct in-depth research on emerging markets, global trade trends, and special topics such as digital trade, sustainability, and geopolitical risks. You will analyze macroeconomic data, trade policies, and market dynamics. You will develop forward-looking insights and forecasts to help corporations formulate their business strategies. You will publish high-impact research reports and participate in conferences, seminars, and media engagements to share findings and insights. You will liaise with internal and external parties to design and develop research topics. You will stay updated on the latest research methodologies and technologies to enhance the team's capabilities.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor degree in Economics, International Trade, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in economic research, with a focus on international trade and emerging markets.
• Proven track record of producing high-quality research.
• Strong analytical skills, with expertise in data analysis tools and econometric modeling.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• High proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
