About the Role
The Chief Data Officer (CDO) will report to the CEO and will be a strategic leadership role responsible for driving data strategy, data governance, analytics, and monetization to enhance customer experience, regulatory compliance, and business growth. The CDO will oversee the bank's data direction, ensuring high-quality data management, advanced analytics, and AI/ML adoption to support decision-making, risk management, and personalized banking solutions. Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with retail banking objectives. Establish data governance frameworks, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with regulations. Define policies for data ownership, classification, and lifecycle management. Modernize data architecture, including cloud migration and real-time data processing. Lastly, foster a data-driven culture across a banking environment
The successful applicants
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field with 12+ years of experience required
- Proven ability to anticipate business needs and future, emerging trends and to articulate a vision and strategy that motivate others to action
- Proven ability to interpret and apply pertinent policies, procedures, regulations, and requirements
- Very strong technical skills in the areas of data sure, data solutions design and extensive experience with leading enterprise data warehouse technologies
- Experienced with any cloud adoption will be a big plus
- Passion in GenAI, analytics, machine learning or deep learning is an advantage
- Ability to develop positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members; demonstrated experience in leading a multifunctional team
- You have demonstrated a track record of driving data-driven decision-making and business insights
- You have in-depth knowledge of data governance, data management, and data analytics
- You are a strategic thinker with a proactive and innovative approach to data management
- Good command in Chinese and English
