The School invites applications for the post of Associate Clinical Professor (Teaching)/ Assistant Clinical Professor (Teaching)/ Clinical Professional Consultant in Family Medicine or Public Health Medicine.
Associate Clinical Professor (Teaching)/ Assistant Clinical Professor (Teaching)
Applicants should have (i) a medical qualification (approved for registration with The Medical Council of Hong Kong); (ii) a pass in the intermediate examination of a post-registration specialist/higher qualification in Family Medicine / Community Medicine and 3 years' relevant experience; (iii) demonstrated experience in academic, health services, primary care or related sectors; and (iv) preferred teaching experience. Applicants for Associate Clinical Professor (Teaching) should also meet the prerequisites of a medical qualification and a post-registration specialist/higher qualification in family medicine or public health (e.g. FRACGP, FHKCFP, MRCGP, FHKCCM or equivalent attainment of FHKAM (Family Medicine / Community Medicine).
The appointee will (a) undertake teaching and clinical duties and supervise students; (b) supervise and coordinate course development for medical education; (c) engage in research activities and provide clinical services; and (d) undertake related administrative duties.
Appointment will initially be made on fixed-term contract basis for up to three years, which may be extended or renewed subject to performance and mutual agreement. Appointees may be reviewed for conversion of their appointments to continuous appointment terms.
Clinical Professional Consultant
Applicants should have (i) a medical qualification (approved for registration with The Medical Council of Hong Kong); (ii) around 3 years of relevant experience in academic, family medicine, health services or related sector; a recognized higher professional qualification is advantageous but not essential; (iii) strong experience in teaching undergraduate, particularly medical students, and postgraduate students; and (iv) be proficient in written and spoken English and Cantonese. Proficiency in Putonghua is preferred but not essential.
Day-to-day duties include (a) undertaking teaching and student supervision duties; (b) assisting and coordinating course development for undergraduate/postgraduate programmes, with a priority for medical programmes, and any ad-hoc training programmes; and (c) performing other related tasks as assigned.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
