DEPARTMENT OF CHINESE AND BILINGUAL STUDIES
Assistant Officer (Ref. 250414007-IE)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) coordinate the work of a team of administrative staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the general office of the Department;
(b) provide administrative support in various aspects of academic programmes, such as admission exercise, class time-tabling and subject registration;
(c) provide secretarial support to departmental committees and/or working groups;
(d) liaise with internal and external parties;
(e) coordinate and compile returns/reports/statistics, manage and maintain databases; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree;
(b) have at least three years of relevant work experience, preferably gained in tertiary institutions;
(c) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;
(d) have good interpersonal and organisational skills;
(e) have the qualities of a good team player with strong sense of responsibilities;
(f) be self-motivated and able to work independently; and
(g) have good computer literacy in applications, including MS Office and Chinese word processing.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
