Assistant Accountant/Accounting Assistant (Staff Disbursement) (Temporary Appointment) (two posts) (Ref. 250212008)
[Appointment period: each for six months]
Duties
The appointees will be required to:
(a) perform general accounting duties of staff claims and other payments of the University and its subsidiaries;
(b) handle daily operations including inputting data, processing payments/journals and following up with various units on claims related matters;
(c) handle telephone and email enquiries;
(d) assist in the enhancement of the staff claims and related payment systems;
(e) handle general office administration; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines; or
a recognised diploma/certificate plus at least one year of work experience in accounting, auditing and other related fields, with experience in handling staff claim reimbursements being an advantage; or
a combination of results in five HKDSE subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects, and the five subjects must include English Language, Chinese Language, Mathematics, and preferably Business, Accounting & Financial Studies / Practical Accounting for SMEs, plus at least 5 years of relevant work experience; or
five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Mathematics, and preferably Principles of Accounts, plus at least 5 years of relevant work experience;
(b) proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
(c) fair command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
(d) good communication and interpersonal skills.
Applicants with less experience and/or qualifications may be considered for the post of Accounting Assistant.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
