Our client is a leading innovator in precision engineering, specializing in advanced manufacturing solutions for various high-tech industrie. We are seeking an accomplished Group Quality Director to establish and lead the group-wide quality strategy, standards, and infrastructure across all subsidiaries. This is a newly created, high-impact role reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for driving excellence in quality management, compliance, and operational efficiency.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership- Define and implement the group's quality vision, policies, and long-term roadmap to align with business objectives.
- Develop and standardize quality management systems (QMS) across subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or semiconductor-specific standards.
- Drive zero-defect initiatives and advanced quality planning (AQP) for precision manufacturing processes.
- Oversee quality control, assurance, and compliance for semiconductor and precision technology operations.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode analysis (FMEA), and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for critical quality issues.
- Establish data-driven quality metrics and KPIs to monitor performance and implement improvements.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing quality team (~12 members) across multiple subsidiaries.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production teams to integrate quality standards into product design and manufacturing.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to industry and customer-specific requirements.
- Champion Lean Six Sigma, TQM, or other process optimization methodologies.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Implement automation and AI-driven quality inspection tools where applicable.
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Semiconductor Physics, or related technical field.
- 15+ years of progressive quality leadership experience, with at least 10 years in the semiconductor industry.
- Deep understanding of precision manufacturing processes (e.g., wafer fabrication, IC packaging, metrology).
- Proven track record in building and scaling quality systems in a multi-site, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, AEC-Q100).
- Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken); Cantonese is a plus.
- Experience working in global semiconductor firms (e.g., TSMC, Intel, Samsung, ASML, or top Chinese fabs).
- Certification in Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing, or Quality Auditing.
- Exposure to AI/ML applications in quality control.
