Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

• planning, developing, coordinating and delivering courses (including face-to-face and distance learning modes) in related disciplines at the undergraduate, taught and research postgraduate levels;
• giving guidance to students in the capacity of academic adviser;
• undertaking/engaging in programme administration/development and scholarly activities; and
• participating in School/University activities and administration.

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

• an earned doctoral degree in Education or a related discipline, with relevant experience in school teaching and/or tertiary education, preferably including programme administration; 
• a record of research and peer-reviewed publications, and / or involvement in professional and community services & activities ; 
• a good network with local and some overseas early childhood education organizations will be an advantage;
• a good knowledge if the special education in Early Childhood is strongly preferred; and
• a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese).

The level of appointment depends on the candidate’s academic background, experience and competence in academic leadership, teaching, research, scholarly publications, etc.

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, a composite cash/housing allowance, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
