POLYU ACADEMY FOR INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH
Assistant Officer (Ref. 230815020-IE)
Duties
The appointee will be required to provide secretarial support to the Director of Research Centre of Textiles for Future Fashion (RCTFF), one newly set up constituent research unit under the PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research. The appointee will also be required to:
(a) provide administrative support to RCTFF’s day-to-day operation;
(b) coordinate visits, scholarly events and other occasions;
(c) handle information flow and maintain an effective record and filing system;
(d) update the website of the Research Centre;
(e) publicise updated information of RCTFF through different media;
(f) provide secretarial support to committees and meetings;
(g) liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of RCTFF or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a good recognised degree and at least three years of relevant post-qualification experience;
(b) have good communication and interpersonal skills;
(c) be well-organised and attentive to details;
(d) be able to work independently and handle sensitive matters with alertness and prudence;
(e) have good computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; and
(f) be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
Preference will be given to those with solid relevant work experience in tertiary institutions.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
