We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Student Affairs Office:
Student Affairs Manager / Assistant Student Affairs Manager (SEN Support Services) (SAO) (Ref: 25000KZ)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive support services for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN);
- Providing individual sessions and supporting to SEN students to enhance their academic and personal growth;
- Coordinating with faculty, staff, and external agencies to ensure the provision of appropriate accommodations and resources;
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of support programms and making improvements as necessary;
- Organising workshops, seminars, and training sessions for staff and students to promote awareness and understanding of SEN issues;
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of student interactions, support plans, and progress;
- Advocating for the needs of SEN students within the university community;
- Staying updated with current legislation, best practices, and trends in SEN support and services; and
- Performing any other duties as assigned.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognized degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related disciplines, preferably with higher degree;
- A diploma in SEN, along with substantial experience in providing guidance, will be advantageous;
- At least 7 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in student affairs, counselling, or support services, with a focus on SEN;
- Strong understanding of SEN issues, accommodations, and support strategies;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations;
- Proven ability to develop and implement support programmes and initiatives for SEN students;
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
- Demonstrated advocacy skills and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and accessibility; and
- Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for record-keeping and communication.
Applicants with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Student Affairs Manager.
Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.
