Reporting to the Associate Vice President (Academic), the School Head is expected to provide academic leadership and vision for School in Health, Social Sciences or related disciplines in alignment with the mission and strategic plan of the College.   

Major Responsibilities of the Position 

• To provide academic leadership to the school including the development of academic programmes, curricula, teaching methodologies, and assessments that are aligned with the College mission, vision and strategic goals, and also met the requirements of the industries and society;
• To manage the school by ensuring its smooth operation of programmes, student and staff activities and communication with external stakeholders and to effectively and efficiently monitoring the allocation of resources, budget planning, and staff management;
• To provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students by taking appropriate measures to cater for the needs of diverse students of the respective programmes in the School;
• To devise plans for the development of teaching staff members, including their career growth in teaching, research and scholarly activities, professional training and development, and performance evaluation;
• To promote the reputation of the College and the School by developing partnerships and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders such as industry partners, professional organisations, and government authorities through research and professional activities;
• To ensure that the School meets all quality assurance standards set by the College and government regulatory bodies and to develop and execute governing mechanisms within the School; and 
• To participate in the development of the College strategic plan and ensure that the School's goals and objectives are aligned with the College’s mission and vision.

The Appointee 

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Health, Social Science, or related disciplines; strong track records of academic leadership and management; substantial experience in supervision, project management, and stakeholder engagement; ability to develop the staff’s capacity for new developments; a multi-disciplinary vision for the development of the School; excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills. 

Conditions of Service   

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include contract-end gratuity, medical benefits, and staff development sponsorship. Appointment will be on a fixed-term contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
