The University now invites applications for the following position to work in the Research project “Design and Optimization of Multi-Job Hierarchical Federated Learning Framework for Edge Intelligence”, funded by the School Research Grants:
Research Assistant – Department of Computer Science (Ref: RA (COM-SDSC-SRG072) 2025-03-28)
Responsibilities:
The appointee will mainly assist the project leader in conducting research work in the field of federated learning and wireless communication optimization. Research duties include but are not limited to literature review, model development, programming and simulations.
Applicants should:
- possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably with a master’s degree or above in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline;
- be proficient in Python programming and experienced in using deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch;
- have a theoretical foundation in machine learning and good mathematical modeling skills; and
- be able to work independently.
