Engineering Discipline

Major Duties:
(a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement in Electrical Engineering related modules such as Electrical Machines and Drives, Electrical Installation, Lighting Technology and Entertainment Lighting, Electrical Power Systems, Smart Grid, etc.;
(b) To carry out duties in relation to student academic and programme administration;
(c) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials and facilities;
(d) To support new projects and programme / module development;
(e) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and
(f) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.

Requirements:
(a) A recognised degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or professional qualifications, preferably with a relevant post-graduate qualification;
(b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience;
(c) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; and
(d) Experience in curriculum and training material development and instructional design and/or good records of linkage with industry or professional bodies will be an advantage.

Notes:
(1) Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of "Assistant Lecturer" in the rank of Teaching Associate.
(2) The initial posting is in IVE (Haking Wong). The appointee(s) may be posted to other work locations to suit the operational needs.
(3) Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written assessment.
(4) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or work on different campuses.
