The Art faculty at GSIS is well resourced, with 3 well equipped and dedicated studios and a full-time Art technician.  The successful applicant will be required to teach throughout the age range and should have experience of preparing senior students for public examinations such as I/GCSE and/or the IB Diploma. 

Candidates wishing to be considered for the leadership role of Head of Art should indicate as such on their application letter. The Head of Art co-ordinates the teaching of the subject throughout the secondary school area and takes a leading role in curriculum development. He/she works with the subject colleagues to ensure good professional practice and to maintain high standards of teaching and learning in the subject. 

What is required and what we’re looking for

• Teacher qualification
• Minimum of 3 years full time teaching experience preferred
• Excellent English speaker with sound written and oral communication skills (native speaker level)
• Culturally sensitive, tolerant and patient
• Positive, proactive and independent work ethic
• Experience of teaching at both I/GCSE and IB Diploma level would be beneficial
• Experience of organising exhibitions and showcases of student work at all levels of secondary school, including those elements required for the above qualifications
• A willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities
• Candidates should be able to demonstrate curriculum leadership qualities and a vision for the development of the Visual Arts programme (for Head of Art)
