THE JOB

The HKSI works in close collaboration with the Golf Association of Hong Kong, China (GAHKC) in achieving the jointly defined goals of elite training. Therefore, while reporting to the Chief Executive/ Deputy Chief Executive, the incumbent is also responsible to the GAHKC to ensure the following duties are satisfactorily conducted:

• To oversee the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation, of the Hong Kong National Team elite training programme in line with the agreed training and competition aims of the GAHKC and HKSI;
• To lead all regular strategic reporting to GAHKC and to ensure a positive collaborative working relationship between GAHKC and HKSI;
• To lead the Golf Department, managing coaching and administrative staff, ensuring that it operates effectively, efficiently and within the annual financial budget
• To ensure that all scientific, medical, education and other athlete support services are fully utilised and integrated into the Golf programme to enhance elite training outcomes;
• To create systematic opportunities for talent to emerge through related programmes;
• To contribute towards the overall development of coach education programmes which promote the development of local coaches;
• To provide professional and technical oversight of the HKSI Golf facilities;
• To contribute to in-house and general media publications as requested; and
• To contribute to the enhancement of the professional image of the HKSI and GAHKC;

THE REQUIREMENTS

• University degree or its equivalent;
• A valid coaching certificate issued by the relevant governing body;
• Over 10 years’ proven experience and achievement in coaching Golf at international level;
• Coaching experience in major Games is an advantage;
• Substantial experience as in High Performance Management leading programme planning - including strategic, operational and administrative functions in Golf will be an advantage;
• Knowledge in sports science and sports medicine and be able to bring their benefits to the coaching process;
• Excellent interpersonal / analytical / evaluation / planning skills;
• High level of computer literacy;
• Strong links with international Golf bodies;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; and
• Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.

主要職責

體院與香港高爾夫球總會攜手合作，共同致力培訓精英運動員。因此高爾夫球總教練須向本院院長/副院長及香港高爾夫球總會負責，以履行以下職責：

• 根據體院及香港高爾夫球總會認可之訓練和比賽目標，負責監督香港高爾夫球隊的精英培訓計劃，其中包括有關的策劃、設計、實施及評估工作;
• 定期領導向香港高爾夫球總會作策略報告及確保體院與香港高爾夫球總會兩者在工作上維持正面協作的夥伴關係;
• 領導高爾夫球部門，包括教練及行政人員，確保部門在周年財政預算內有效地運作；
• 確保高爾夫球精英培訓計劃善用所有運動科學、醫療、教育及其他為運動員而設的支援服務以加強訓練成果;
• 透過有系統的發展計劃，發掘有潛質的運動員;
• 參與教練培訓計劃的整體發展，從而推動本地教練的培育;
• 為體院的高爾夫球設施提供專業/技術監督;
• 因應要求，向體院及傳媒提供資料；及
• 協助進一步確立體院及香港高爾夫球總會的專業形象

職位要求

• 大學學位或同等學歷；
• 持有由相關管理機構頒發的教練証書資歷；
• 擁有十年或以上擔任高爾夫球國際賽教練的經驗，期間並取得良好的成績；
• 具有執教國際賽事經驗者優先；
• 具有高爾夫球項目的精英管理領導經驗，包括策略、日常運作及行政工作優先；
• 具有善用運動科學和運動醫學的能力藉以加強訓練成果；
• 具備良好的溝通/分析/評估/策劃的技巧；
• 熟悉電腦操作；
• 具有良好國際高爾夫球組織的聯繫網絡；
• 具有高水平的書寫和語言表達能力；及
• 認識香港保護兒童及平等機會政策為佳。
