CENTRE FOR HOLISTIC TEACHING AND LEARNING (CHTL)

The Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning assists the University in its pursuit of excellence in education and the creation of transformative learning experience for our students. The Centre aligns its initiatives to the University’s strategic direction of becoming a research-led liberal arts university of global significance, through promoting teaching and learning excellence, outcomes-based approach, and e-learning. The Centre now invites applications for the following position:

The appointee will be responsible for (a) server setup, configuration and administration; (b) assisting web applications development and testing; (c) assisting websites design and maintenance; (d) any other duties assigned by the supervisors.

Applicants should possess a relevant Bachelor’s degree or above with substantial relevant post-qualification experience. Excellent command of English and Chinese is required. They should have good communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Hands-on experience in Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS) and Apache is required. Knowledge in data security technology, such as SSL, encryption is preferred. Familiarity with MySQL, MS SQL or equivalent database, PHP, HTML/CSS3, Java, JavaScript is highly desirable and a definite advantage. Applicants with less qualification or experience will be considered for the post of Assistant Technical/Project Officer or Technical/Project Assistant.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
