Technical Officer/Senior Laboratory Assistant in the School of Clinical Medicine (several posts) (Ref.: 522545) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should hold a Diploma in laboratory sciences or related disciplines.  They are also expected to have a first aid certificate.  They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good organizational and interpersonal skills; a strong sense of responsibility; appropriate IT proficiency; and the ability to work independently and in teams.  Experience in handling equipment for clinical and simulation training as well as inventory organization would be an advantage.  Those with lower qualifications or less experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Laboratory Assistant. 

The appointees will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of a clinical laboratory and oversee the safe utilization of the facilities.  Duties shall include the preparation of apparatus for laboratory teaching activities, operation of electronic and audio-visual devices, and conducting maintenance and procurement of equipment.  The appointees will also assist in the setting up of a newly developed, state-of-the-art simulation training centre for medical students. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
