Systems Analyst (Financial Information System) (PR0085/23-24)

Position description

Reporting to the Information Systems Manager in the Office of Information Technology (Applications and Integration Services), the appointee is responsible for the development and support of Financial Information Systems as well as different projects of the University.

Responsibilities:

• Perform requirement confirmation with users and propose solution(s) to fulfil the business needs;
• Responsible for development, implementation, enhancement and support of web applications;
• Liaise with users for UAT and acceptance for deployment;
• Collaborate and communicate with internal teams in ITO;
• Manage and liaise with vendors as required;
• Develop and maintain effective partnerships and teamwork through close collaboration with internal stakeholders, IT teams and external vendors;
• Provide support in vendor management, project management, planning and execution of IT initiatives for continuous improvement and innovation; and
• Support any ad-hoc IT projects as required. 

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related discipline;
• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in application development;
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Analyst with web application development experience;
• Sound knowledge of Java / JEE development, familiar with JDK 1.7 or later, EJB technologies, and programming in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSF, AJAX, SQL, PL/SQL, Linux/Unix shell scripting;
• Sound knowledge of DBMS such as MSSQL, MySQL, Sybase, Oracle etc;
• Experience in web application server such as Oracle Weblogic Server, Apache, Tomcat and Jboss;
• Experience in Oracle Stored Procedures, Oracle Forms / Reports, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Hyperion Planning;
• Knowledge and experience in PowerBuilder, Crystal Report, Jasper Report, Alteryx, Qlik Sense will definitely be advantageous;
• Experience in project management and vendor management;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, commitment, be a self-starter and result oriented, with strong business acumen; and
• A good team player while being to work independently with competence in problem solving and troubleshooting. 

Work Location: Tsuen Wan Campus

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract for up to 2 years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
