Responsibilities
Reporting to the Section Head of System and User Services, the appointee is responsible for:
- Manage and maintain application systems and database infrastructure
- Provide technical support for UNIX and Linux system administration and support including system setup, configuration, related third party software installation, patch upgrade, system monitoring and health check
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schema and queries
- Create and maintain system and database backups and recovery processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and database issues
- Maintain system and database security and procedures
- Participate in the planning and implementation of new application system projects
- Work shifts and irregular hours might be required
- Perform any other duties as requested by supervisors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System or related disciplines
- Minimum 6 years of working experience in system administration and Oracle database administration
- Candidate with less experience will be considered as System Architect
- Excellent system and database troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration
- Strong knowledge of system and Oracle RDBMS, including installation, configuration and administration
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Hands-on experience in script programming such as Linux shell script, python, perl or C will be an advantage
