Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre
The Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre is the first local independent certification body of organic production in Hong Kong. The Centre is providing organic certification service and actively promoting organic movement to the public through mass publicity and educational campaigns. We are seeking passionate and energetic candidates who are interested in organic and agricultural development in Hong Kong to fill two vacancies of the following position:
The appointees are expected to assist the Centre Executive/Assistant Centre Executive in the execution of administrative and certification system control matters, promotional and educational activities. They will be involved in handling certification applications, maintaining certification documentation system and website, preparing publication materials, promoting organic agriculture and aquaculture industries, educating general public on related areas.
Applicants should have a university degree in agriculture, fisheries, biology, environmental science or related disciplines, with at least three years of relevant experience in related field. Knowledge of certification, auditing, food safety and/or organic farming/fisheries will be an advantage.
Applicants should be able to work independently, self-motivated, ready to accept challenges, and willing to meet people. They should have passion and devotion to organic and green living, and the eagerness to promote local organic agriculture. Out-going and energetic personality are expected. Good communication in both spoken and written English and Chinese and good computer skills including MS Office and Chinese word-processing are required. Overtime and offsite work at weekends and public holidays is required occasionally.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
