Company Overview
The scope of work of the Policy and Development Division covers the following:
- Develop or update legislation and guidelines on insurance supervision and protection of policy holders
- Introduce regulatory or other initiatives to facilitate the development of the insurance industry
- Formulate regulatory policies and supervisory requirements on insurers
- Liaise with the Government, financial regulators, industry and standard setting bodies, both local and overseas, on policy issues
Reporting to the Executive Director / Associate Director, Policy and Development, the incumbent will assume the following:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of professional staff
- Involve in policy formulation, co-ordination and execution of various projects on policy initiatives (eg legislative initiatives)
- Co-ordinate and communicate with stakeholders including the Government and industry organizations; and prepare relevant materials (eg meeting materials and presentations)
- Monitor the progress of any work plan as developed and assigned by the Executive Director
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director to facilitate the administration of the statutory functions of IA
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in law, public administration, actuarial, accounting, insurance, business, economics or other related fields
- Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in public administration, insurance, or other related fields. Experience in policy and regulatory related issues is an advantage
- Good understanding of the insurance industry and financial markets
- Strong leadership, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua is a plus
