The Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies invites applications for the following two full-time posts.

1) Senior Lecturer II/ Lecturer I/II positions in one or more of the following areas: (i) FinTech/Financial analytics; (ii) Financial planning and wealth management; (iii) Green finance and ESG Investment;

2) Lecturer I/II positions with a specialisation in one or more of the following areas: (i) entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship; (ii) social organisation and leadership; (iii) Financial planning and human resource management; (iv) corporate social responsibility.

The appointee will participate in activities related to teaching, project supervision, curriculum and programme development, together with programme and course management at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  He/she is expected to be an active scholar committed to pedagogical innovation, the development of teaching techniques to assist students with learning difficulties, and to actively contribute to the whole-person development of students through active mentorship. Moreover, he/she will support the department in fostering an environment that encourages students' practical application in the fields of entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship.

Applicants should preferably possess a relevant professional teaching certificate, e.g. PGDE or qualification of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognized by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong or other qualification of equivalence, and provide a statement of teaching interests and evidence of past and current teaching accomplishments and quality teaching and/or successful record of relevant professional experience, at primary/secondary and or tertiary level.

Applicants should have at least a Master's degree in related discipline.  For Senior Lecturer II, applicants should have a minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification teaching experience; or preferably a Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of 3 years' relevant post-qualification teaching experience.  For Lecturer I, applicants should have a minimum of 4 years’ relevant post-qualification teaching experience. Applicants with less teaching experience may be considered for the post of Lecturer II. 

Preference will be given to applicants with a doctoral degree and/or with professional qualifications in financial planning/entrepreneurship. Applicants who have responded to the previous advertisements (No.2401291 or 2401465) need not re-apply.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include the University’s Voluntary Contributions to MPF Scheme or a contract-end lump sum payment (totaling up to 10% of the basic salary for the position of Lecturer I and Lecturer II, and totaling up to 15% of the basic salary for the position of Senior Lecturer II), leave, medical and dental benefits, and, where applicable, housing benefits.
