Senior Information Officer (Server Management)

Responsibilities
Working in the Server Management team of the System and User Services Section, the appointee is responsible for:
- Provide technical support for UNIX and Linux system administration and support including system setup, configuration, related third party software installation, patch upgrade, system monitoring and health check
- Manage server capacity, data backup and performance monitoring for systems and applications
- Assist in developing the customization and development of server management scripts and setup of web platform such as Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP
- Perform security hardening and assist in system maintenance, performance tuning, system fault diagnosis and trouble-shooting
- Work in shifts and irregular hours might be required
- Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor(s)
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree / Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System or related disciplines
- At least 2-3 years of working experience in UNIX / Linux server administration and operating system hardening
- Hands-on experience in script programming such as Linux shell script, python, perl or C
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good knowledge and related experience in setup, operation and technical support of virtual machines and containers will be an advantage
- Fresh graduates are welcome
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at the relevant rank.
