The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the world’s most successful higher education fundraising organisations, and to make a lasting impact by working with philanthropists in Hong Kong and China towards the Oxford Thinking Campaign- the largest and most ambitious in Europe with a goal of £3 billion.
We are looking for a highly versatile and motivated team player to join the Oxford China Office team in this key fundraising role. The post holder will have the opportunity to work with prominent donors and academics and possess a strong drive towards getting out in the field and developing purposeful and effective relationships with prospective benefactors. The post holder will be expected to liaise with senior academics to write fundraising proposals in English or Chinese, to spend part of his/her time identifying and meeting current or prospective donors both in Hong Kong and mainland China and to coordinate fundraising visits from University leaders to the region. As a core element of his/her activity, the post holder will be expected to work closely with China Office staff and other development professionals of the Collegiate University. This is an exciting and stimulating role in a busy team, and the post holder will have the opportunity work on a wide variety of projects in the delivery of an ambitious fundraising plan. Requirements:
Applicants will have an excellent general level of education with a Bachelors degree or above, superlative English and Chinese communication skills, an interest in UK higher education or educational fundraising, evidence of strategic and tactical thinking, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure. A background in educational fundraising is an asset but not essential, and experience in business development, consulting or sales may be relevant.
