Research Assistant I/II in the Centre for Information Technology in Education within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 201800371) (to commence as soon as possible until February 28, 2019)
The Centre for Information Technology in Education (CITE) launched a 19-month university-school support project on “Multilevel Leadership Network for SDL Innovation to Advance STEM Development (SDLS-MLN)” in August 2017. The project aims to provide professional support to teachers and schools for the design, implementation and evaluation of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in the upper primary (P.4-6) and lower secondary (S.1-3) schools in Hong Kong. Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in science, social sciences, education or other relevant fields with at least 2 years’ research experience. They should have proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese, excellent communication skills, good basic IT skills, and experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods. A higher degree in science and technology, psychology, education or humanities is a definite advantage. Familiarity with the local education environment and curriculum design is highly desirable. Preference will be given to those with research skills (particularly interview, qualitative data analysis and quantitative analysis using SPSS) and experience in STEM as well as in project coordination and event organization such as seminars and conferences.
The appointee will assist the project team to conduct literature review, surveys, interviews, data management, paper-based and online data collection and analyses; organize project seminars; and write up reports.
