The position is under the Marketing & Communications Department in the organization structure of HKFA. Reporting to the Public Relations & Communications Manager, the appointee will be assisting with the management of media relations and the delivery of the HKFA’s communications strategy. The main duties are listed below.

Job Description

• To assist the PR and Communications Manager in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of PR campaigns to meet the Association’s mission, increase public awareness and enhance the image of the HKFA.
• Under the direction of the PR and Communications Manager to respond to public and media enquiries.
• To work with agency / stakeholders to conduct market research, develop appropriate strategies to collect and report information, and use feedback to guide current and future PR and media efforts.
• To prepare press statements and regular communication materials with stakeholders to be approved by the PR and Communications Manager.
• To ensure that all PR and Media dealings are coordinated with other marketing and management initiatives.
• To be responsible for the production of events from conception through to completion, e.g. press conference, event launch, MVP award and etc.
• To perform on-site event management including venue logistics co-ordinations, rehearsals, rundown handling and stage management.
• To contribute on the post event evaluation reports to inform future event planning.
• To assist in more general HKFA marketing and promotional activities, events and programmes as instructed by the PR and Communications Manager.
• To perform such other duties and responsibilities as instructed by the Chief Executive Officer and PR and Communications Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• University degree in Communications/Business Administration/Public Relations or related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in media relations.
• Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and (preferably) Mandarin.
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills, confident in facing public and media.
• Knowledge and interest in football / sports will be advantageous.
• Willing to learn, detail minded and a good team player.
• Proficient in PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese character input).
• Expected to work overtime, irregular hours and some weekends and public holidays when required
