Apps Resource Centre

The future Apps Resource Centre is seeking a self-motivated and responsible individual with the following qualifications to fill one full-time or part-time position of Outreach Project Associate.

The appointee is expected to promote and facilitate student service learning projects in Hong Kong and China in areas of educational, social, and environmental needs that may benefit from the creation of custom made mobile applications. This would include arranging field trips for our students to better understand these needs, possible solutions to community problems. The appointee is also expected to form working relationships with various university departments and projects, regional NGOs, as well as networking with other educational app makers to explore collaborative projects.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrate exceptional organisational and interpersonal communication skills. Applicants must be fluent in Cantonese and/or Putonghua with good English speaking skills. They should also have at least three years of experience in public relations, teaching, or related activities.

Other useful experience in the following areas will be an added advantage.

- Events and project management

- Working with NGO’s and/or charitable organisations

- Promotion of extra-curricular activities in a university environment

- Teaching of coding and/or design

- Curriculum development

- Mobile apps development

- Web development with HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
