Job description

Reporting to the CEO Asia, the Operations Manager responsibilities will include:

• Manage the operational teams in Hong Kong
• Communicate clearly with staff on key initiatives, activities or any other relevant information and ensure that every team member receives the same, clear communication.
• Achieve and report on the KPI’s that have been predetermined and implemented to assist you in managing the operational teams. Consistently meeting and achieving the KPI’s is an expectation / goal that the Management all have to ensure is achieved.
• Manage the implementation of new systems or processes in Hong Kong as well as across the region as required and the continual improvement of these systems to bring efficiencies to the operations.
• Manage key client accounts implementations for Hong Kong in conjunction with the Sales Manager in Australia.
• Develop and maintain good relationship with shipping lines, warehouse operators and other Hong Kong partners.
• Regular communication with the Australia and Asia Customer Services Team and ensure that all processes are designed in line with the joint consideration of all Group offices.
• Special ad hoc projects

Qualifications and Experience

A self-motivated individual, you will ideally demonstrate:

• Diploma in Operation/logistics Management or equivalent
• Min. 5 years experience in freight forwarding (both air and sea)
• Min. 2 years in a managerial/supervisory level
• Experienced in managing a team
• Self motivated with strong leadership skills
• A good team player and attentive to details
• Strong negotiation skills, global thinking and a can do attitude
• Well-organized and willing to learn, able to work under pressure
• Superb communication, interpersonal and coaching skills.
• Able to work independently, responsible and hardworking
• Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English in both written and conversational
