Job Description
The Member Relations Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and will work closely with the Business Development and Partnership Manager to drive member recruitment and retention efforts. The candidate for this full-time position will possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills who is also a self-starter, meticulous in account management and will thrive in a fast-paced but collaborative environment. While the position provides excellent exposure to C-suite leaders across a range of sectors, there is also a significant element of constantly and actively being in touch with all of our members to maintain renewal rates and to achieve monthly targets.
Job description
Membership Engagement
- Reach out to members regularly via phone, email, social media, and/or events, workshops and seminar participation to understand their needs and expectations and to obtain valuable feedback to improve our existing services
- Identify cross-selling opportunities to enhance membership value
Programme Development
- Manage the Chamber’s Membership Privileges Program by inviting select vendors to participate
- Propose new and/or amend existing programs to help improve membership value
Database Management
- Ensure the database is up to date with member information and interactions – “know your client" methodology
- Identify meaningful trends via feedback, surveys and statistics to develop an understanding of member needs and their alignment with our services. With this information, develop and/or amend existing programs accordingly
- Prepare reports on the status of membership renewals as appropriate
Financial Management
- Manage the budget and be responsible for monthly membership renewals
- The Member Relations Manager will be responsible for meeting monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets while maintaining a high level of member satisfaction
Committee Involvement
- Act as the Secretariat Liaison to liaise with and support key Chamber industry Committees and partners for potential advocacy, campaign and event opportunities
- Report progress of the assigned industry Committees at the Secretariat meetings
Leadership and Teamwork
- Coach a Management Trainee to manage member relations and provide high quality client service to our members
- Source new leads, and work effectively with colleagues in other teams, including business development, corporate communications, events management and finance management
Other duties: Assist with other Chamber-wide initiatives as required from time to time
Candidate Profile
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant specialization (i.e. business, marketing, public relations)
- 2-3 years in core sales role with additional experience in marketing and client/customer relations
- Strong organization and leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and be a proactive and energetic team player with self-motivation, creativity and positive working attitude
- Experience and success in developing compelling written, oral and visual presentation materials
- Previous experience in a member based organization a plus but not required
- Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
- Able to work legally in Hong Kong.
- Able to start work immediately (preferred)
