Job Responsibilities:

• Perform fundamental credit research and recommend internal rating for investment-graded Asian bonds (e.g. China, Hong Kong, Australia, Korea, India, etc.) and/or private placements using both quantitative and qualitative assessments
• Analyze new credits and compile in-depth Credit Memo for management to review
• Conduct annual credit reviews as well as industry sector reviews
• Review US private fixed income and commercial mortgage loans sourced by US and Canada teams
• Generate buy/sell/hold investment ideas with up-to-date market knowledge in response to change in macroeconomic conditions
• Trade Asian bonds for direct investment portfolio based on credit, issue terms and market trading levels
• Prepare Investment Order for approval
• Continuously monitor and manage credit risks of outsourced mandates by external investment managers, brokers and other counter-parties
• Prepare credit quality reports for regular committees

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business/ Economics/ Finance/ Accounting/ or related discipline is required
• Minimum 5 years in credit analytical role, with focus on Asian names, both corporate and bank credits
• Strong credit analytical skill with credit modelling experience identifying key risk drivers is an asset to this role
• Excellent report writing skills
• Experience in rating agencies/ fixed income in buy-side or sell-side preferred
• In-depth credit knowledge of specific industries (e.g. utilities) is a plus
• Exposure to Private Fixed Income/ Project & Infrastructure Financing/ Chinese Onshore Bonds/ Local Government Financing Vehicles/ Toll Road Financing is an added advantage
• Chartered Financial Analyst or accounting designation preferred
• Detail oriented, multi-tasking, responsible and reliable
