IT Officer / IT Technician in the School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 522946) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess (a) 5 passes in HKCEE or equivalent with 5 years’ relevant work experience, or (b) specialised training or education with 3 years’ relevant work experience, or (c) a recognised Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines.  Experience in web applications, system maintenance/development that would automate administrative work processes and enhance workflow within the context of an educational institution would be an advantage.  Fresh graduates who are highly motivated may also be considered.   

Applicants should have a strong sense of responsibility with good interpersonal skills, and be able to work well with our dynamic Teaching and Learning Team under a fast-paced environment.  Profound knowledge in PHP, React, JavaScript, Node.js, Java, Python, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, and Linux server administration would be an advantage.  Experience in SAML is preferable.  We welcome applicants holding comparable positions as IT Solutions Analysts/Associates in other organisations.  Those with higher qualifications and/or richer experience may be considered for appointment as IT Officer.   

The appointees will be responsible for maintenance, enhancement and development of applications/systems for frontline operations in teaching and learning, including the Moodle platform, as well as general IT support to the team.  On-the-job training will be provided.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or skills test.
