IT Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant IT Manager) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 522152) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or other related disciplines, with a minimum of 5 years’ solid programming and system development experience, preferably with the knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and opensource Client Relationship Management Software (CRM).  Familiarity with web technologies including PHP, HTML5, CSS and jQuery would be an advantage.  They should also be good team members who have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, great interpersonal skills, self-motivation, a strong sense of responsibility, as well as the ability to multi-task and deliver satisfactory results within a tight timeframe.  

The appointee will play an important role in the development and maintenance of websites and in-house web applications, and management of the outsourced IT projects.  He/She will work independently and effectively to collect requirements, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide training.  The appointee will also coordinate and liaise with external vendors on application development in order to define the functional specifications and ensure the quality of deliverables, and perform other duties as assigned.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
