The Student Affairs Office aims to enhance the learning experience and well-being of students during their time at the Academy through the provision of a wide range of professional services in support of their academic, personal, social and professional development. The Office serves a range of functions in careers service, counselling service, health service, student financial assistance and student accommodation. The Office works closely with Schools in support for mentoring and guidance, orientation and induction.
The Head of Student Affairs oversees all Student Affairs activities pertaining to creating an environment to enrich student experience. He/she will report to the Deputy Director (Academic).
Applicants should have:
(a) A recognised degree, or an equivalent qualification, preferably in psychological counselling or related disciplines;
(b) Proven experience in higher education, with specific experience in management of student affairs and oversight of student development and wellbeing;
(c) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua will be an asset.
(d) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year contract. Renewal of contract is subject to work performance and operational needs of the Academy. A gratuity payment equals up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15 % of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Non-accountable Cash Allowance may be provided to the eligible appointee as entitled.
