Job Description:

• Oversee the Compliance function to ensure the Branch is operating within all rules and guidelines from HKMA, SFC and other regulatory authorities relevant to the businesses conducted by the Branch
• Lead the Compliance team and nurture talents in various compliance areas
• Provide pro-active advisory support to all business, control and support units in the Branch on compliance matters through effective communication and partnership approach
• Formulate, maintain and update compliance related internal policies and procedures to ensure they comply with the regulatory requirements
• Liaise with Head Office and various regulatory authorities in relation to compliance matters
• Enhance compliance culture within the Branch, provide relevant training and regular updates to all units, set relevant KRIs in monitoring compliance risks, and establish compliance review monitoring program

Ideal candidates should possess:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, Accounting, Finance or other related disciplines
• At least 15 years’ relevant work experience in a banking institution with corporate banking and private wealth management business, covering various compliance responsibilities, such as AML, selling suitability, customer and product due diligence, regulatory reporting, licensing, outsourcing, data protection etc.
• Knowledge of Banking Ordinance, SFO and rules/circulars of HKMA, SFC and other regulatory authorities
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and problem solving skills with the mindset to team work and support all units in the Branch
• Management experience in leading a team of good size; effective in coaching, developing and retaining talents in the team
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese)
