We seek to hire an experienced senior risk professional for our Research & Analytics team. This position directly reports to the Managing Partner of the company, and is responsible for delivering value added investment research and quantitative analytics for our existing and new investment products, to ensure the portfolio risks are fully understood by our investment and capital markets teams, and assist the business teams for engaging our clients with quality content and to ensure the risk/ return profiles are consistent with our client’s reasonable objectives.

This role would also cover a broad spectrum of topics and project initiatives across various functions, and support the Managing Partner to keep abreast of key research and quantitative analysis topics, within the firm and the asset and wealth management sector, and would be ideal for high calibre young candidate that enjoy growing with a young and fast growing ETF investment firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior coverage for the firm’s research & analytics function, and conduct regular and ad hoc research and statistical analyses on existing and new strategies
• Partner with investment and distribution teams to engage prospective and existing clients on investment research topics including quantitative risk/ return profiles of our existing products and new products under development
• Work closely with investment team to originate due diligence, research and client-ready thought leadership content to interpret investment trends and develop research and marketing content and related models and analytics to support the business development and regulatory needs of the firm
• Conceptualize business and investment strategies, work closely with investment and business teams to translate ideas and mathematical models into implementable indices or systematic strategies
• Help portfolio managers by assisting with quantitative techniques for portfolio construction and alpha generation
• Represent the Research & Analytics team on various committees including investment, valuation, etc. to ensure that risk issues are appropriately addressed.
• Evaluate financial data vendors; evaluate and work with new data sources and analytics packages in developing investment strategies

 Knowledge / Experience/ Qualifications

• Driven, diligent and reliable professional with exceptional personal and professional integrity, attention to details, and appreciate working as part of a dedicated, high performing team in a fast-paced environment
• High level of self-motivation and highly organized and able to adhere to tight deadlines.
• Robust quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability and familiarity with risk factors and asset pricing models
• Industry work experience of 10+ years in quantitative risk management, portfolio construction and quantitative risk model research, preferably with experience at an established buy-side firm (s) and prior experience in the Asia Pacific region
• Proven track record and demonstrated strong interest in quantitative investment research and across multiple asset classes and systematic, quantitative investment products
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, for both internal and external communications, with ability to articulate complex business ideas and quantitative investment topics with across sophisticated and layman audience
• Proficiency with Bloomberg, Excel VBA and advanced excel modelling for quantitative research analytics
• Knowledge of programming languages (such as C, C++, etc.) or statistical tools, such as S-Plus, R, SAS or Matlab, and/or familiarity with SQL and financial data is a plus
• Positive attitude and strong ability to self-learn and develop knowledge for new quantitative investment topics, and able to perform complex quantitative investment analysis and drive ad hoc projects without supervision
• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline especially actuarial science, applied statics and mathematics is a plus
• FRM, CFA and CAIA designations are a plus
• Fluency in written and spoken English, and fluency in written and spoken Chinese a strong plus
