Our client, a globally renowned law firm with 30 offices across nearly 20 countries, is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead business development and marketing strategies and enhance client engagement across the firm. This role involves driving the expansion of client-focused programs, implementing innovative systems, and developing strategies to strengthen the firm's competitive position regionally and globally. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, practice groups, and industry leaders to formulate and execute impactful business development priorities. Key responsibilities include overseeing client relationships, preparing proposals and presentations, managing events, and tracking sponsorship performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

In addition, the role requires expertise in project management, budget tracking, and identifying growth opportunities through research and analysis. The incumbent will bring a proactive leadership approach to the APAC team by fostering collaboration and process improvement across offices. Profile

This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 12-15 years of demonstrated experience in business development, client relationship management, staff development, and project management, with prior law firm experience as a necessity. A degree in a relevant field or its equivalent is essential, and an advanced degree is highly preferred. The candidate must be knowledgeable of the competitive landscape affecting major global law firms, particularly in Asia/APAC regional scope, and the ability to develop and implement strategic business plans. Strong client service orientation, relationship-building skills, and exceptional communication and presentation capabilities are crucial for success in this role.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and sound business judgment to influence decision-making and interface effectively with executive management. They must excel in highly matrixed work environments, balancing competing priorities while delivering results in collaboration with cross-functional teams across Asia offices. The role demands a proactive, innovative, and self-directed approach, demonstrated project management expertise, and flexibility to travel between Asia offices as required. Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is also a key requirement.
