Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Information Officer is a key member of the management team in providing technological solutions for CUHK Medical Centre (CUHKMC) to accomplish its corporate goals and business objectives. As the head of Information Technology Department, the post holder will ensure alignment of technology and business strategic direction, determine technological road map, and manage its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) resources to provide facilities, services, and solutions, satisfying user requirements in a cost effective manner.  

Job Description

1. Formulate ICT strategies, policies, and technological road map to support the corporate strategies and goals of CUHKMC;
2. Drive the delivery of ICT systems, smart solutions, and innovations to support patient care services, business development, and hospital operations to enhance its competitive edge;
3. Oversee the acquisition and management of vendors for the development, implementation, and enhancement of ICT facilities, systems, and solutions;
4. Lead the development of overall ICT infrastructural and application architecture to ensure business partner alignment on a secure and efficient data exchange platform;
5. Monitor the implementation of ICT security policies and measures to protect data security and privacy;
6. Monitor and improve the performance and reliability of ICT systems and services, and devise contingency plans to ensure business continuity with a high level of availability and reliability of ICT operations;
7. Manage the ICT budget and resources planning, protect ICT investments, ensure optimal returns and data security;
8. Foster an innovative culture, identify and implement new initiatives that promote better patient experience and pioneer solutions in healthcare; and
9. Perform any other duties as assigned by the CEO from time to time.

Job Requirement

1. Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and a Master’s degree or above in IT, management, healthcare or a related discipline;
2. At least 15 years’ IT related working experience, of which 7 years should be in senior managerial positions in sizeable or international organisations;
3. Work experience in healthcare IT systems is a definite advantage;
4. A strong proven track record in a leadership role driving major digital transformation initiatives and/or large-scale IT projects;
5. A creative and agile leader with excellent business acumen, people skills, and the ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team; and
6. Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.   

Compensation and Employment Terms

The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package commensurate with his/her background and experience. The continuation of employment and employment terms thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
