ESF Sports and Language is looking for swimming coaches (25 hours) to join the team.
Role Summary:
- Conduct swimming lessons for all levels / all ages, ensuring progressive athlete development and safety of the participants;
- Maintain high levels of coaching, standardize coaching delivery and improve the effective planning for sports lessons, leagues, and tournaments;
- To establish strong links with the schools and promotion of the ESF sports programme in ESF school venues and in the wider community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide coaching to participants of the ESF Sports swimming programme at various schools in Hong Kong;
- Plan sessions and ensure coaching is appropriate to the skill level of the children in the ESF Sports programme;
- Assist and perform tasks at ESF Sports facilities or at ESF school sites to ensure a professional, safe, and fun learning environment for the participants;
- Implement the relevant ESF Sports programme and work with the programme Head Coach / Programme Manager to develop, update and refine the drills, games, levels, and overall programme curriculum where required;
- Monitor and evaluate athlete’s performance and progress, providing appropriate feedback to parents, schools, and Head Coach;
- Complete relevant lesson registers and assessment or evaluation for the children in the ESF Sports programme;
- Promote ESF Sports activities positively within ESF and the wider community;
- Plan, organize, and lead in the delivery of sports camps, clinics, and other multi-sports sessions which support the sports section;
- Attend regular workshops, Continued Professional Development days, and team meetings;
- Work closely with P.E. teachers at ESF schools to promote ESF sports activities, camp events, and programmes;
- Maintain all equipment in good working condition and report any safety concerns to the Head Coach or Programme Manager. Ensure all equipment is stored correctly and accounted for after each session;
- Complete miscellaneous tasks and other responsibilities assigned by Head Coach or Director of Sport, including but not limited to stock update, marketing, transportation personal development, and any task and job related to ESF Sports.
Requirements:
- Possess a current sport-specific certificate at Level 1 or above or equivalent, First Aid and CPR certificates;
- Two years of recent experience in teaching / coaching young children in swimming;
- Experience in working with and leading volunteers and assistants;
- Passionate about teaching specific sport related to the position;
- Energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to motivate others;
- Work and function effectively within a team;
- Good organizational and planning skills;
- Committed, hardworking, and able to work with a deadline.
