Associate Director of Finance (Special Projects) (PR0103/23-24)
HKBU is looking for an experienced manager and finance professional to take on the role of Associate Director of Finance. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the appointee will play a key and proactive role in assisting the Director of Finance in the formulation, implementation, and review of finance strategies, policies, and operations to support the growth and development of the University.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and improve the planning and operations of the Finance functions;
- Ensure all financial processes, systems, and controls are operating properly and effectively, and make appropriate changes as and when appropriate;
- Offer appropriate financial analysis and assist the Director of Finance to provide appropriate advice on all aspects of financial planning, management, and development to achieve institutional strategic goals; and
- Lead special projects to improve the overall financial operations of the University, including but not limited to optimising processes, reviewing policies and accelerating digital transformation of financial operations in the University, assisting the development of a data culture within the University.
Requirements:
- A qualified accountant with a bachelor's degree or above in accounting, business, finance, or a related discipline;
- A qualified member or fellow of professional accountancy bodies, preferably including one in Hong Kong;
- Extensive management experience of at least 12 years, preferably in sizable organisations;
- Excel in analysis and governance, proven ability to exercise sound oversight of finance operations in both Hong Kong and Mainland;
- Proven project management skills, an effective change driver capable of aligning people and resources toward new directions within a complex administrative setting; and
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage people effectively to optimise performance.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of 3 years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
