Responsibilities
- Assist the senior management in formulating the University's strategies and policies in technology transfer (TT), knowledge transfer (KT), intellectual property protection and commercialisation
- Lead and manage the team in executing the University's policies, innovation initiatives and TT /KT activities
- Work on contracts and agreements, engage in business negotiation, and provide guidance and support to faculty members
- Advise on and oversee the University’s submission for external grants and funding schemes for innovation and technology transfer
- Supervise and oversee intellectual property protection
- Liaise and meet with potential licensees, industry partners and government fund providers in Hong Kong, the Mainland and beyond
- Represent the University in external events and networks
- Co-ordinate and prepare reports and data as required
- Manage and oversee the budget, ensuring efficient use of resources
- Manage daily operations and the team, including staff development and performance management
- Provide support for internal committees and task forces
Requirements
- A good university degree. Postgraduate qualifications or legal background would be an advantage
- At least 12 years' relevant working experience
- Relevant working experience in the higher education sector would be an advantage
- Sound knowledge in Intellectual Property (IP) management and licensing
- Solid experience in corporate report writing and compiling statistical reports
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills in both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Travelling and site visits may be occasionally required
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
