Assistant Director (Branding and Marketing) (Ref. 250409001-IE) 

Duties  

The Assistant Director will play a key role in enhancing the University’s branding and marketing efforts, helping to improve its reputation among key stakeholders.  This role will manage the Branding and Marketing team within the Communications and Public Affairs Office, focusing on executing branding campaigns, managing social media, creating digital content, and organising events. 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a) Leadership and Team Management

  • lead and manage the Branding and Marketing team, ensuring their work supports the University’s branding and marketing goals;
  • encourage collaboration between branding, design, and marketing teams to maintain a consistent brand image;

 

(b) Brand Communications and Marketing Execution

  • develop and implement brand communication plans and marketing activities for the University, focusing on effective campaigns that highlight the University’s strengths to build brand awareness and preference both locally and internationally, especially on digital and social media platforms;

 

(c) Social Media and Digital Content Management

  • create and carry out a social media plan that boosts the University’s online presence, engages audiences, and builds brand loyalty through engaging storytelling and interactive content;
  • oversee the development of digital content that aligns with the University’s branding goals and connects with target audiences;
  • transform the University’s objectives into creative content across various formats such as dynamic graphics, engaging videos, and interactive presentations;

 

(d) Event Planning and Coordination

  • organise and implement the University’s events, including event management, logistics, VIP visits, invitations, and RSVPs, with a focus on creating memorable experiences that enhance the University’s brand narrative;
  • ensure consistent messaging and branding in all event-related materials;

 

(e) Performance Tracking and Budget Management

  • track and report on all branding campaigns, assess their effectiveness, manage marketing budgets, and evaluate progress;
  • provide insights and best practices for improvements, particularly in digital and social media areas, recommending actions as needed to ensure continuous enhancement; and

 

(f) Additional Duties

  • perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or her delegates. 
     

Qualifications 

Applicants should have: 

(a) a recognised degree and at least twenty years of experience in related areas; 

(b) proven experience in branding and marketing, with a strong focus on branding campaigns, digital content strategy, and social media; 

(c) demonstrated expertise in event management and storytelling, with strong communication and presentation skills; 

(d) excellent planning, project management, and the ability to analyse data and provide actionable insights; 

(e) creative thinking with a strategic mindset, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams; and 

(f) excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.   

Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Senior Manager. 

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
