Assistant Accountant / Accounting Assistant (Payment) (Temporary Appointment) (two posts) (Ref. 250409003)
[Appointment period: each for six months]
Duties
The appointees will be required to:
(a) perform accounting duties related to payment to suppliers and staff/students’ claims, ensuring timely processing, accuracy and compliance with the established rules, regulations and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
(b) handle enquiries from staff, students and suppliers; and
(c) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or his delegates.
Qualifications
For the post of Assistant Accountant, applicants should have a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines; or a recognised diploma/certificate plus at least one year of work experience in accounting, auditing and other related fields;
For the post of Accounting Assistant, applicants should have one of the followings:
- a recognised diploma / certificate preferably in Accountancy;
- a combination of results in five HKDSE subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects, and the five subjects must include English Language, Chinese Language, Mathematics, and preferably Business, Accounting & Financial Studies / Practical Accounting for SMEs;
- five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Mathematics, and preferably Principles of Accounts;
Applicants should also have:
(a) proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
(b) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
(c) good problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; and
(d) a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation.
Applicants with less experience and/or qualifications may be considered for the post of Accounting Assistant.
