Educational Development Officer (Quality Enhancement) (Ref. 17102304-IE)
The appointee will be appointed at the substantive level of Educational Development Officer and will be required to (a) conduct reviews on University’s strategic development in quality enhancement, and support the dissemination of the relevant policies; (b) support the development of learning outcome assessment measures, and provide training and consultation to teachers and departments; (c) support the University’s engagement in external quality audits; (d) provide input on teaching and learning, and serve on working groups; and (e) engage in educational research and University-wide teaching development programme.
Applicants should have (a) a master’s degree in Education or a related field; (b) a minimum of eight years of experience in supporting quality enhancement at university level; (c) experience in supporting quality enhancement at university level, as demonstrated by substantive involvement in any of the following or equivalent activities: (i) policy development pertaining to institution-wide quality enhancement; (ii) projects to develop a quality culture at institutional/departmental level; (iii) initiatives to improve quality assurance processes; (iv) external quality audits and/or accreditation exercises; and (v) quality assurance of academic programmes; (d) experience in conducting outcome assessment and/or implementation analysis; (e) experience in conducting educational research and facilitating teaching development workshops for academic staff; (f) strong organizational and problem-solving skills, a proactive and professional work style, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively; and (g) excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including high proficiency in written and spoken English.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit a professional portfolio of relevant works and accomplishments and to attend an interview.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointments will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
