Primary school teachers who can open up a world of opportunities for children, are flexible and enjoy the challenge of fully developing their potential will fit in well with ESF's requirements.
The school is hiring 22 primary school teachers for the 2012 academic year starting in August, to complete the required 300 teaching staff for their nine primary schools and primary school departments within two private independent schools.
"ESF teachers are team players who can collaborate with colleagues and contribute to their school. They have excellent communication skills, they can relate to a student, on the one hand, and interact with parents, on the other hand. ESF teachers typically have rich teaching experiences," says Charles Caldwell, ESF's human resources director.
According to Education Department requirements, teachers need to have a university degree, a recognised teaching qualification, and several years' teaching experience. ESF also carries out background and reference checks.
"We have in-depth recruiting processes and a lot of good governance takes place in parallel to ensure that there's a cultural fit and that the teachers hired can deliver academically," Caldwell says.
At ESF, teachers will benefit from being exposed to a productive, experienced and diverse global teaching workforce, he adds.
Another big incentive for teachers are the numerous inter-school competitions and projects across a variety of disciplines, including literature through "Battle of the Books", music with "The Annual Choral Concert", as well as sports, where students can show their mettle.
ESF also has a robust continuous professional development department. "We offer teachers and education assistants access to a uniquely vibrant local and regional professional development community, in which all colleagues are engaged," Caldwell says.
"ESF provides a world of opportunity, not just for students, but also for teaching and support staff - the entire ESF team," he adds.
Teachers benefit from an attractive salary and benefits package, plus a variety of leave types, including annual leave, maternity, paternity or adoption leave, as well as study and examination leave.
