Located in Aberdeen, L'hotel Island South is set to open in May this year and plans to fill about 170 new vacancies, including middle managers and frontline hospitality staff.
The mid-level management posts are primarily in sales, guest services, procurement and food and beverage.
"We don't want to limit ourselves by only employing people with a hotel background," says Sylvia Chung, general manager of L'hotel Island South and general manager of hotel development and operations at Chinachem Group. "We welcome candidates from all kinds of disciplines and industries, as long as they are service-oriented, have clear goals and a passion for life."
She adds that applicants who are young, outgoing, sociable and energetic will fit in well with the hotel's modern style and approach. They should also be willing to face challenges and to provide great service for guests.
New joiners will receive comprehensive training which includes orientation programmes, courses on personal grooming, service skills and on-the-job supervision.
Looking further ahead, the hotel intends to promote from within whenever possible. There should be additional opportunities at the sister hotels - L'hotel Nina et Convention Centre and L'hotel Causeway Bay Harbour View Hong Kong.
"We will provide a chance for everyone to participate and contribute, whether in service or development," Chung says.
L'hotel will have 432 guest rooms, with 13 suites and four grand terrace suites offering ocean views.
