The company currently has 100 employees and will hire about 50 more for various posts, including partner management trainees, sales consultants, and city and business development managers.

The company has been credited with inventing social commerce and has close to 143 million subscribers worldwide. It offers daily deals at what it claims to be unbeatable prices in 45 countries. The fast-paced start-up environment requires staff who are self-motivated, hardworking, professional team players.
"We operate in a flat and low hierarchical structure," says Wong. "We encourage our employees to develop their own ideas and become [active] members of the team."
The person who takes up the role of city manager will be responsible for driving his or her area's performance, and will have direct responsibility over the profit and loss statement.
Applicants should have at least three years' experience in an entrepreneurial setting. Experience and enthusiasm for coaching and active management are necessary.
A university degree is also needed, though an MBA is the preferred qualification.
Candidates for the business development manager role should be able to connect with interesting and reliable companies.
They will negotiate the discounts that help ensure people keep returning to the Groupon website.
According to Danny Yeung, chief executive at Groupon, staff are their most valuable asset.
