Keep fit while you work
The best way to stay active at work is to set aside a time during the day to train, either on your own or with your colleagues. Other options to consider are exercising on the way to work and keeping fit around the office.
Schedule time to exercise
If you schedule specific times for exercise and plan your working week around them, you will be far more likely to participate. You can schedule times for exercise before work, during your lunch break or after work. Choose a time that best suits your lifestyle, book it into your diary and commit.
Exercise with colleagues
One way to keep fit during the day is to exercise with co-workers. The best way to do this is to join a gym or participate in a combined training session. You may also consider playing a sport with your colleagues or organising a walking or running group.
Lose pounds on the way to work
By getting off the bus or train one stop early, or parking further away from your building, you can incorporate more exercise into your travel routine. You could also consider cycling to work or taking the stairs to keep fit. Simple changes like this can improve your fitness.
Stay active in the office
If you don't have any time for exercise, you can still keep fit around the office. To strengthen your back and help improve your posture, sit on an exercise ball instead of a regular office chair. It is also important to release tension in your muscles by stretching and walking around to speak to people instead of using e-mails.
