To celebrate Halloween, Ocean Park runs a special event every October to create excitement. This year, for its 10th "Halloween Bash", the park will have more than 20 programmes and attractions, with eight haunted houses, and is now recruiting performers and back-stage personnel.
"There are about 600 openings, including for performers, escorts, technicians, a show director and stage manager," says Eva Au Yeung, Ocean Park's events and entertainment manager. "We are looking for people who are energetic, outgoing and passionate about the entertainment profession. Those with relevant work experience will have an advantage."
Performers will entertain guests at the Haunted Attraction, while those assigned a roving role will mainly pose for photos with visitors. The various live shows will require people to act as a master of ceremonies, dancers and to perform stunts. Specialist coaches will give instructions and the park's wardrobe team will handle the costumes and make-up.
"Back-of-house staff will provide support to ensure events run smoothly," Au Yeung says. "Our house co-ordinator crew and technicians will be responsible for the operation of the haunted attractions."
All new hires will receive comprehensive training, whether in acting skills, guest services and in safety.
"We are hoping to see applicants who are confident and can show us their passion for the role," Au Yeung says.
