Training and Development Manager (Health and Safety) (Ref. 17050201-E2)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) assist in the formulation of strategic safety training and development plans to enhance overall health, safety and environmental management in the University;
(b) identify training needs of different university stakeholders, including but not limited to, institutional partners, students, faculty and other administrative offices, in line with the office goals in safety culture and competency enhancement initiatives and develop integrated training and development systems for both classrooms and online platforms;
(c) collaborate with departments and training providers, both internal and external, in the execution of customized health, safety and environmental training and development for both research-based and non-research based activities;
(d) support safety outreaching programme and stakeholder meetings for departmental training and communication requirements;
(e) develop and maintain centralised safety information system in accordance with legislative and in-house requirements;
(f) conduct regular training and development needs analysis, assess, evaluate and monitor the quality and effectiveness of training and development programmes; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Office or his delegates.
The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours occasionally.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a master’s degree, preferably in Training and Development, Human Resources, Education, Project Management or related disciplines;
(b) at least eight years of solid and relevant post-qualification experience at supervisory level, preferably gained from large organizations and related to health, safety and environment;
(c) a passion for training and development and the ability to come up with effective implementation plans to enhance staff quality and unleash their potential;
(d) good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills;
(e) a proven track record in training (needs investigation, design and delivery) or project management;
(f) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua; and
(g) good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment at a lower level.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.
